Micro Picnic is a collection of hyper-realistic, tiny, wearable, food sculptures. Catalysts for conversation, this jewelry is attempt to fool the eye, trigger giggles, and incite wonder – while also increasing consciousness about our food systems and individualized relationships to food. The works are hand-sculpted from a base of polymer clay and embellished with pigments and glaze. Sterling silver hardware is embedded into each piece creating wearable works of art with an inherent quirky, ‘let-me-look-closer’ nature. Created by Louisa Donelson: an educator, mother, maker, and vegetarian working and living in foodie Portland, Maine.
