Joy Raskin, a NH native, calls herself a New Englander. Since 1984, Joy has been involved in working in metals, primarily in silver and gold, but also in steel, brass, bronze, copper, gemstones and alterative materials. After completing a BFA from RISD and a MFA from UMassDartmouth, focusing on flatware, earning the nickname Spoon Lady. She works full time as a metalsmith in her studio, teaching metalsmithing and working as a goldsmith for a local gallery. Her work is mostly jewelry, both limited production work such as earrings/necklaces and custom work such as wedding rings..
