Harkoi, a Hindi word that translates to “everyone” or “anyone,” is a brand that thrives within a multitude of aesthetics: minimal and bold, textural and abstract. Suruchi is a textile designer and artist based in Jersey City. She has collaborated with craftspeople for over a decade before moving to the US to pursue her master’s in Textile Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. Having worked in the mass market industry for many years, she decided to reconnect with her roots and her passion for creating artisanal handmade goods and so, Harkoi was born. Harkoi products are designed by Suruchi and crafted by women in India. They are completely handmade and each tie-dyed item takes anywhere from 4 to 6 weeks to be made.
