Andree Brown is a sculptor inspired by organic forms that surprise and delight, particularly leaves. Living in Manhattan, she dreams of forests and finds her solution in sculpting nature. Residencies have shaped her practice: in 2024, her third residency in Chianti, Italy, led to Leaves of Greve and a four-foot fig leaf sculpture; now, at her fourth residency in Marnay-sur-Seine, France, a botanical garden serves as her muse. Working in green wax, she creates minimal forms from individual leaves, enlarging and reimagining them as symbols of social awareness and climate change, honoring the extraordinary within the everyday.
